Claude Champy

Claude Champy (b.1944, France) is a graduate of the Parisian School of Crafts. He began his career by working in a faiencerie, then in 1972 dedicated himself entirely to his own experimentation. In 1975, Sarver Gallery, Paris organized the first exhibition of his work and since that time he has exhibited widely and internationally. Exhibitions include the Museum of Decorative Arts, Paris and the Musee National de Ceramique de Sevres. In 1988, Champy received the Grand Prix of the Suntory Museum in Tokyo, Japan. In 2010, he was featured in the show '8 Artists & the Earth' at Galerie XXI, Paris. Champy is recognized as an important French ceramicist.
