MARK SHAPIRO + SAM TAYLOR
TWO FOR THE ROAD

December 9, 2017 - December 31, 2017
Dec 9, 3-5pm

Mark Shapiro

Mark Shapiro's work has a functional base that is infused with intensity and intention taking it to the level of art. He is an important link in contemporary American ceramics. His work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian Institution, the Mint Museum and International Museum of Ceramics at Alfred. Shapiro is also an inspired teacher and mentor to young potters.

Sam Taylor

New England artist Sam Taylor experiments with form and design as he shapes each piece of pottery by hand.Often his pieces combine wheel throwing with hand building and painting. Taylor fires his work in a wood fired kiln, and the process of wood firing makes each piece unique. This piece is a functional work of art by a nationally recognized potter.
